Durable & Reliable Screens that Get the Job Done

From extraction to refining, there are many steps and applications in the process. The mining environment demands equipment that is not only durable and reliable but also assist in getting the job done efficiently.

Federal Screen manufactures the most comprehensive range of screens for refining applications including large diameter, one-piece construction wedge wire screens. Through superior product innovation and technology capability, Federal Screen provides wedge wire solutions that help lower operational and maintenance costs for mineral processors.

Strainer Baskets for Solvent & Paint Recycling

Federal Screen built reversed formed baskets for a client in the hazardous waste disposal and recycling industry to replace their current baskets that were used for solvent and paint recycling.

Strainer baskets were manufactured using stainless steel wedge wire and custom-made flanges and housings. The continuous slot openings make the screen self-cleaning by allowing near slot size particles to pass through the screen rather than plug the opening.

The durability of Wedge Wire screen is the best choice for an application like this to reduce the frequency of cleaning which saves on maintenance costs and also helps to prolong the product’s working life.

Increase Efficiency with Custom Wedge Wire Panels

Thank you to Grand River Construction for sending us this picture of horizontal and vertical wedge wire screens that we manufactured for them for the City of Lansing Drying Beds project. We worked with them on this custom job to fabricate flat panels for a Wastewater Treatment Plant Drying Bed.

Wedge wire panels are ideal in this type of application as they offer a higher percentage of open area and, therefore, a lower head loss, which helps to increase efficiency, with a smaller footprint.

Meeting their drawing requirements and exact specifications, panels were constructed with 304L stainless steel which ensures a long lifespan.

Lower Operational Costs with MBBR Systems Screens

MBBR System Screens from Federal Screen are used as a secondary treatment for a variety of municipal and industrial applications. They are designed to maximize flow rates as well as to prevent biofilm carriers from escaping in wastewater treatment applications.

Manufactured with high-quality stainless wedge wire, using wastewater screens reduces environmental pollution levels and lowers operational costs over the years. They are fabricated with strong and durable resistance welding, and are available in a wide range of profile wire to suit most systems.

They are robust for vertical wall applications and are self-cleaning when designed to the flow rate. Screens are available in a flat, curved or cylindrical form, and are manufactured to meet specifications. Contact our team of filtration experts for your next MBBR application. 905-677-4171. Flat Panels Used for Stream Diversion

We always like to see how our wedge wire is used in the final product or project. Check out this beautiful picture submitted by the Town of Castle Rock in Colorado of one of their stream diversions.

We fabricated Flat Panels for this project. Wedge wire is ideal for fish screens due to its smooth upstream face and expanding orifice opening in profile. Plus, the design of wedge wire allows the smallest opening of the slots at the upstream surface, which then helps to reduce debris wedging below the screen surface.
